A.What is Soft Token in Mobile Internet Banking?

Soft Token is a digital security that is integrated into Bank ICBC Indonesia Mobile Internet Banking “MIB” to authenticate transactions in the form of 6 digit numbers. Soft Token is a development feature of the Hard Token feature which is an existing security feature digitally at this time so that customers no longer need to bring hard tokens to transacting via Mobile Internet Banking.

Soft Token can be activated through the Mobile Internet Banking application and require a verification process of the branch using the activation code obtained in the branch. In addition to activation through branches, customers can also activate the Soft Token feature using the Dynamic Password from Hard Token. SMS OTP verification is required for the activation process of the Soft Token feature. Currently the transaction with a nominal value Rp 100,000,000.00 will use a combination of Soft Token password and verification of SMS OTP.


B.Activation and Setup Fee

There are no fees for the activation process, Soft Token setup or transactions using Soft Tokens charged to Customers using the Bank ICBC Indonesia Mobile Internet Banking application.


C.How to activate the Soft Token Feature?

Customers can activate the Soft Token feature with 2 methods, namely through a Bank Branch or through the Bank ICBC Indonesia Mobile Internet Banking application. Here are the steps to activate the Soft Token feature:

Soft Token activation process flow through Branch verification

i.Customers come to the Bank branch and ask to activate the Soft Token feature
ii.The Customer Assistant at the Branch will help activate the Soft Token on the Customer's account and the Customer will be asked to enter the 6-digit Soft Token activation code on the PIN input machine.
iii.Next, the Customer will be asked to log in to the Mobile Internet Banking application using the user ID & password.
iv.Select the Soft Token menu, then the Customer will be asked to agree to the agreement for the use of the Soft Token.
v.v. Select the “Use reserved one-time password” menu and the Customer will be asked to enter the 6-digit Soft Token activation code that has been filled in via the PIN input machine.
vi.Next, the Customer will be asked to verify the SMS OTP to continue the Soft Token activation process.
vii.After the Customer has successfully completed the verification process, the Customer will be asked to enter a 6-digit number as the Soft Token password to be used.
viii.The Customer can click “Confirm” after the Soft Token password has been entered correctly.
ix.Soft Token activation has been successfully carried out.

i.The Customer logs in to the Mobile Internet Banking application using the user ID and password.
ii.Select the Soft Token menu, then the Customer will be asked to agree to the agreement for the use of the Soft Token.
iii.Select the “Verification code of Soft Token” menu.
iv.The Customer will be asked to enter the Hard Token dynamic password.
v.Next, the Customer will be asked to verify the SMS OTP to continue the Soft Token activation process.
vi.After the Customer has successfully completed the verification process, the Customer will be asked to enter a 6-digit number as the Soft Token password to be used.
vii.The Customer can click "Confirm" after the Soft Token password has been entered correctly.
viii.Soft Token activation has been successfully carried out.

Flow of the Soft Token usage process to authenticate transactions

i.The Customer activates the Soft Token feature through branch verification or through dynamic Hard Token password verification.
ii.The Customer opens the transaction menu and makes a transaction.
iii.The Customer completes the transaction input data and clicks "Confirm".
iv.Enter the 6-digit Soft Token password to authenticate the transaction


D.Benefits, Constraints and Risks

a)Customer Benefits in using the Soft Token feature on Mobile Internet Banking:
1.Transactions using Mobile Banking will be easier and faster.
2.Adding alternatives for transaction authentication methods.

b)Customer Risks in using the Soft Token feature on Mobile Internet Banking:
1.Soft Token is registered by someone other than the account owner (HP is lost/stolen).
2.Soft Token password is known by someone other than the account owner.

c)Customer Constraints in using the Soft Token feature on Mobile Internet Banking:
1.Customers do not know how to activate Soft Token.
2.Customers forget the 6 digit Soft Token password.


E.Troubleshooting
